What I Plan To Do In The Exam:
In the exam I want to make at least three collages out of smaller collages by securing them to some mounting board a bringing the two parts together using some white and red string to make it seem as though a collection of broken photos are being pulled back together by string.
I decided that I wanted to do this because the sewing thread I have drawn on my collages was originally red so i decided that the red string could represent and tie into the idea of the red thread of fate, and as the name implies the thread would be pulling the broken images to where they are supposed to be in this big collage.
I decided to also add white string because i wanted to have staples in the image too however I don't think that it would look very good, I also thought that the red thread needed another colour to contrast with and white and red make a very nice colour combination in my opinion.
I want to make it seem broken because my idea of the fragmentation brief is less about separation and more about creating something new out of the broken pieces to create something new, original and personal to the person making the piece.
I think that if i can execute this idea the way that i envision it then I will feel as though I have succeeded in my goal of making a piece that is both appealing and meaningful.
The meaning behind this idea is that even broken things can become something that looks just as nice as something that is complete and that things can be repurposed to make something new and better.
